In the movie Drishyam, protagonist Vijay played by Ajay Devgn inspired by crime thrillers make up a plan to save her daughter, who has accidentally killed her molester. Vijay buries the body outside a police station. In the course of obliterating evidence and signs that could implicate his family in the crime, Vijay creates a story to rattle the police.

In the cooked up story, Vijay and his family go to Panjim on October 2, Gandhi Jayanti, to attend Swami Chinmayanand’s Satsang. To back up his story, Vijay and his family also produce bus tickets and a bill from a restaurant where they had pav bhaji.

The scene, since the release of the film, has become a topic of a joke for the social media users, who come and recycle the same Drishyam October 2 memes.
