According to weather forecasts, a heavy winter storm in Southwestern parts of Texas could result in about a foot of snow while traveling eastwards.

The snowstorm could also spawn tornadoes in areas of Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas, reported U.S News on Wednesday.

About 50 miles south of Dallas, the storm resulted in a brief tornado in Corsicana, Texas, on Wednesday.

Even though no injuries have been reported, the storm caused damage to two homes by uprooted trees and also damaged more than a dozen mobile homes in Corsicana, according to a statement released by the Navarro County office.

According to Jeremy Grams, a National Weather Services official in Oklahoma, about 12 to 18 inches of snow should be expected in southwest Texas and 5 inches in western parts of Oklahoma, U.S News reported.

Grams said that the possibility of tornadoes in the warmer sides can not be neglected while indicating areas of southeast Texas, Louisiana and southern Mississippi.
