EXO’s D.O. in talks to star in a new drama

On Friday SPOTV News reported that K-Pop group EXO’s member D.O. might star in a new drama titled ‘True Swordsmanship’ (literal title) as the lead actor. His agency SM Entertainment confirmed the report that D.O. has been offered to star in a new drama and that he is positively reviewing the script.
‘True Swordsmanship’ revolves around a lawless prosecutor who fights for justice for the weak and victims. He also destroys corruption in Korea. D.O. will be playing the role of Jin Jung an unruly prosecutor.

Do Kyung-soo whose stage name is D.O. debuted as a member of EXO in 2012. He made his debut as an actor in the 2014 drama, ‘It’s Okay, That’s Love’. He was nominated for the Best New Actor Award at the prestigious 51st Baeksang Arts Award.
In October 2016, D.O. appeared in a web drama produced by Samsung alongside Chae Seo-jin. The web series became the most-watched Korean web drama of all time.
In the same year, D.O. also starred in the film ‘My Annoying Brother’ alongside Jo Jung-Suk and Park Shin-hye. D.O. won the Best New Actor award for the film at the 2017 Blue Dragon Film Awards.

In 2017, D.O. played a supporting role in the film ‘Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds’, an adaption of the webtoon of the same name.
Next year in 2018 D.O. starred in the drama ‘100 Days My Prince’ as the lead. The drama was a commercial hit. It also became the fifth-highest-rated Korean drama in cable television history.
The same year he also starred in the film ‘Swing Kids’ where plays the role of a North Korean soldier who starts learning Tap Dance.
