Social media giant Facebook is all set to introduce a new tool for users in India to avail emergency measures and healthcare responses in a better manner. The company will be investing in a vaccine finder tool update for Indian users, which is all set to roll out for mobile users in the next week, as per various media reports.
"Partnering with the Government of India, Facebook will begin rolling out its Vaccine Finder tool on the Facebook mobile app in India available in 17 languages to help people identify places nearby to get the vaccine”, the platform said in a post on Friday.
Earlier in his own post, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg had noted on April 27 that he would be going to the hospital and donating $10 million to aid ‘emergency response efforts’.
The tool will have locations of vaccination centres, as well as their hours of operations will be updated by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Additionally, the platform noted that it will support United Nations agencies and various NGOs in the country by reaching the maximum possible number of persons with information related to vaccination.
It noted that it would also provide necessary information to UNICEF India personnel about how to manage mild COVID-19 symptoms and when to seek emergency care.
