Akhtar could be seen thrashing a man during the start of the teaser as the frame transitions into him doing his boxing workouts. It can be assumed from the teaser that Rawal plays the role of his coach.

'Toofan' will be premiering on May 21, 2021 on Amazon Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories, according to Hindustan Times.  Ritesh Sidhwani is producing the film along with Mehra and Akhter.

Mehra told Hindustan Times, "After working with Farhan in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, I was certain he would be the perfect protagonist for Toofaan. The best thing about him is that he does not act the part, but lives it completely."

He added, "Toofaan is a story that will motivate and inspire all of us to get out of comfort zones and fight towards achieving our dreams. We cannot wait to present our film to viewers across the globe."
