A meal delivery service in the United Kingdom has issued an apology after a customer was delivered what seems to be a bottle of urine along with their order. HelloFresh UK apologised on Sunday after a customer received a Coca Cola bottle filled with urine along with his meal kit.

Taking to Twitter, the customer, Oliver McManus, posted a picture of the bottle and said, “Hey @HelloFreshUK , I’ll keep it simple: why have I received someone’s bottled up piss as part of my order?”

A number of other uses suggested it was apple juice, but McManus was not convinced and offered to return the bottle back to the delivery service.

“I’ll send it to you and you can have a whiff in case you’re sceptical,” he tweeted.

Speaking with The Independent, McManus said the bottle may have been left by some other warehouse worker or delivery person, admitting that the meal box was already partially open when it arrived.

“The last thing I would want is for anyone to get sacked or in trouble as a result of this incident. It is unfortunate that it happened but I’m sure it raises some wider questions about working conditions in the UK,” he told The Independent.

HelloFresh issued an apology on Twitter soon, saying, “We truly lack the words to describe how sorry we are because of this. Could you please send us a DM so we could deal with this as soon as possible?”

“Given the wholly unacceptable nature, we are urgently investigating, along with our delivery company, how an open box with this bottle in it was delivered.”

“We have apologized directly to Mr McManus and offered an appropriate good will gesture. We are working hard to do everything we can to ensure that this cannot happen again,” the company said.
