A day after a Bengaluru-based makeup artist accused a delivery guy of the food delivery app Zomato of hitting her, the man was booked and arrested on Thursday, reported ANI, quoting Bengaluru DCP (South East) Joshi Srinath. Zomato has also issued an apology for the “traumatic experience.”
Hitesha Chandranee, the Bengaluru-based woman, on Wednesday had shared a video on her Instagram handle after the assualt wherein she could be seen bleeding. She narrated the whole incident and shared that her nose has been broken.
Chandranne said that she ordered food from the food delivery app and even after one hour, she did not receive her order. She contacted the Zomato customer care after the delay and asked them to cancel the order or refund it.

While she was talking to the customer support, the delivery guy arrived and upon being asked to wait while she resolves the issue with the company, he barged into her home, hit her and ran away with the food.
The makeup artist has registered an FIR against the delivery guy.
Meanwhile, Zomato has apologised Hitesha for the “traumatic experience.”
“We deeply regret this incident & apologise to Hitesha for this traumatic experience,” it said in a statement, reported ANI. “We are in touch with her and are providing our complete support through the necessary medical care and investigation. Meanwhile, we have delisted the delivery partner from our platform,” the company added.
The video has garnered over 6 lakh views and people have come out in her support. She thanked the Bengaluru Police for their help and asked people to share the video as much as possible to raise awareness against such incidents.
