Stress in life can be caused simply by a laundry to-do list or by traumatic experiences or chaotic events every day. Too much to do in too little time and with limited energy is the real cause of stress and anxiety in our everyday lives. Stress is the inability to deal with life situations, triggered by internal or external factors.

While a certain amount of stress can help us be on our toes to meet our everyday deadlines, beyond a point stress but stress leaves a person mentally and physically exhausted. Paying attention to 10 different issues at the same time can be the cause of stress. Appetite problems, mood swings, heart issues, and sleeping problems are all by-products of excessive stress which might be caused by workload, relationship problems, financial responsibilities etc.

Stress management techniques are a way to a healthy and peaceful life. Here are some tips to follow: 

1. Laugh with all your Heart!

Laughing releases oxytocin and serotonin in the body which reduces the stress level. It tends to lighten the mood and also reduces inflammation in the arteries. Laughter can also stimulate circulation and aid muscle relaxation, both of which can help reduce some of the physical symptoms of stress. Laughter enhances your intake of oxygen-rich air, stimulates your heart, lungs and muscles, and increases the endorphins that are released by your brain.

2. Meditate and Rejuvenate 

Meditation as a practice has been adopted by people for thousands of years. Originally and initially it was meant to get a deep understanding of the mystical forces of life but nowadays meditation is a stress buster. Meditation relieves us from all stresses and provides inner tranquillity and joy. Scientific analysis of meditation states that it removes all factors of stress and the purest being within us emerges with solutions after this rest. 

It is believed that the Eureka of Archimedes and the elevation of Newton happened in this space, when they finally relaxed. Albert Einstein, the greatest of all scientists said, ‘I think 99 times and I find nothing; I stop thinking, swim in silence, and the truth comes to me!’

3. Exercise Everyday 

Exercising is as essential as brushing and bathing. Exercising in any form can act as a stress buster. Being active can boost the feel-good hormone, and endorphins and provides a distraction from daily worries. Exercising is like meditation in motion. After a long walk or brisk run, you would forget the stressor of life. Any aerobic activity or nature hike can contribute to this feeling of relaxation.

4. Unplugging is Replugging 

It is absolutely okay to cut all the ties from the world once in a while. Replying to emails, chats, and scrolling through Instagram can also cause stress and anxiety. Not being socially available for about 15-20 minutes a day can bring in a sense of a calm state of mind and the enhancement of mood and emotions. “Me” time makes us socially more available and sane.
