Actor Naseeruddin Shah, who was admitted to Mumbai’s Hinduja Hospital for treatment of pneumonia, was discharged on Wednesday. His son and actor Viaan Shah shared pictures of the 70-year-old and his wife and actor Ratna Pathak Shah from their home. He captioned them: “Back Home” and “He just got discharged today morning.”

In the pictures, Naseeruddin Shah can be seen wearing an orange tee and white pyjamas while Ratna Pathak Shah looks was seen in a green traditional outfit. Last week, the veteran actor was admitted to Mumbai’s Hinduja Hospital after a small patch of pneumonia was detected in his lungs.

Confirming the news, Ratna Pathak Shah had said Naseeruddin was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday last week. “Yes (he has a) small patch and all under control. (He is) Responding well to treatment so hope he’ll be discharged soon,” she told PTI.

Known for his mind-blowing performances, Naseeruddin Shah was part of films, including ‘Maqbool’, ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’, ‘Masoom’, ‘Nishant’, ‘Sarfarosh’, ‘Iqbal’, ‘A Wednesday’, ‘The Dirty Picture’, ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ and ‘Monsoon Wedding’. He was also part of several international films such as ‘Such A Long Journey’, ‘The Great New Wonderful’ and ‘Mango Dreams’.

Shah’s career spans over 46 years and he is also known for his extensive work in theatre and running the theatre group, Motley Productions.

The National School of Drama (NSD) and Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) alumnus was last seen in the 2020 drama ‘Mee Raqsam’ and the acclaimed Amazon Prime Video series ‘Bandish Bandits’.
