Radha Krishna Kumar, an Indian film director, and screenwriter who predominantly works in Telugu cinema was born on August 2, 1984. Jil, produced by UV Creations, was his directorial debut. For the films Anukokunda Oka Roju (2005), Okkadunnadu (2007), Prayanam (2009), and Sahasam (2009), he served as an assistant director under Chandra Sekhar Yeleti (2013). Radhe Shyam, his most recent film with Prabhas, was released on March 11, 2022, and was produced by UV Creations and T-Series.

Radha Krishna Kumar’s Radhe Shyam offers it all: magnificent visuals and music, a star-studded cast, a steamy romance, and more. However, the film lags and even fails to live up to the expectations it generated.

The lack of chemistry between Pooja and Prabhas is a barrier to this love narrative, as are their characters, who lack depth, coherence, and explanation. Even if they try hard to play their parts convincingly, this has an impact on their own performances. The screenplay is littered with irrelevant scenes and characters who don’t contribute to the plot. Radhe Shyam was shot on a large scale in several locations in Europe, giving it a fairytale feel. Justin Prabhakaran’s music compliments the scenario nicely. The VFX guys should be praised for their efforts.

All of this, though, is barely enough to save a love tale whose fate could have been so much more.
