A bride figured how she could turn her wedding lehenga into a memorable one. She got her late father’s letter embroidered on her veil. Suvanya, the bride, showed up at her wedding in a red lehenga designed by Sunaina Khera.

She narrated the story behind her late father’s letter in a video released on social media. The caption read, “Bride Suvanya got her father’s letter embroidered on her dupatta and that’s absolutely heartwarming.”

In the video clip, the bride revealed that she lost her father to cancer in May 2021. “The emotional turmoil of not having him around will always get to me. Logical or not, I really wanted to feel his presence at the wedding, in a way that I can always hold on to, just like his letter,” and hence she picked up the phrase, “My heart to yours” from her father’s letter and got it embroidered on the veil of her lehenga.

She said that the letter was written by her father on her previous birthday. “He had carefully crafted it with utmost honesty and love, in an attempt to convey what I mean to him,” she said and added, “I got it framed and would read it every time I felt alone. I think it will take me a while to read that letter again.”

The video was flooded with many comments praising the idea. While an Instagram user wrote, “Love this,” another user said, “So beautiful.”

This was not the first time a bride chose to include something which she is emotionally connected to. Earlier, in Pakistan, a bride chose to carry a portrait of her mother while walking down the aisle with her father. The viral video showed the bride getting emotional while she held the photo in one hand and grabbed her father’s hand with the other.
