The mock drill for COVID-19 vaccination continued in different states and union territories across India on Saturday, covering 286 session sites spread across 125 districts. A total of 1,14,100 vaccinators were trained. More than 75 lakh beneficiaries have registered on Co-WIN software, the Government said. Mizoram government administered dummy vaccines, while Andhra Pradesh created dummy incidents to test the preparedness of the adverse events following immunization (AEFI). In the national capital, dry run was conducted at three sites — the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, Shahdara; Urban Primary Health Centre, Daryaganj; and Venkateshwar Hospital, Dwarka. The vaccination team went through the entire process – from registration, to administration of the vaccine and monitoring for adverse after-effects, if any. “The objective of the dry run for COVID-19 vaccine introduction is to assess operational feasibility in the use of Co-WIN application in a field environment, to test the linkages between planning and implementation,” the Union Health Ministry had said on Thursday.
