Tequila is made from a blue agave tequilana plant native to Mexico. If tequila is helpful in weight loss has been misinterpreted several times over the years. 1: Balancing insulin 

Researchers have concluded that consumption of tequila may be helpful in maintaining the blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes patients. Tequila can help lower glucose levels and increase insulin production.

  2: Help avoid cognitive decline 

After reviewing 44 studies, researchers found that those who drink wine, beer, tequila and other liquor have a lower risk of dementia than those who do not. 

3: Aids in digestion 

Before a meal, tequila can help stimulate the appetite. According to a 2017 study conducted by the Francis Crick Institute in the UK, alcohol fires up neurons called AgRP which then increases appetite.

4: Cold-buster 

In the 30s tequila was actually prescribed by doctors in Mexico as a cure for the common cold. Tequila with a slice of lime would help in killing bacteria and adding vitamin C.
