Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday. He had self-isolated himself days after he attended a meeting with Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who was found infected with the novel coronavirus.

Informing that he tested coronavirus positive, the CM wrote on Twitter, ” I was tested for Novel Corona Virus today. My test report has returned positive. I appeal to all colleagues and associates who came in my contact over the last week to get themselves tested. I request my close contacts to move into strict quarantine immediately.”

Earlier on Monday, Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta and two BJP MLAs-Aseem Goel and Ram Kumar-had tested positive for COVID-19. Six assembly staffers have also tested positive for the infection, PTI reported.

Meanwhile, the monsoon session of the Haryana assembly starts on August 26 afternoon. In the speaker’s absence, Deputy Speaker Ranbir Gangwa will be presiding over the House proceedings.
