Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij tweeted out on Monday that
he would not go ahead with the second dose of COVID-19 vaccination, as he does
not need it.

Significantly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi got vaccinated
earlier on Monday in New Delhi’s AIIMS, as the nationwide second phase of
inoculations went underway.

“Today corona vaccine is starting for the people. Now there
should be no hesitation at all. I will not be able to receive a dose as, after
a Covid infection, my antibody count is 300 which is a lot. Maybe the trial
vaccine I had taken had a role in that. I don’t need vaccine right now,” Vij
tweeted in Hindi.

The Health Minister got his first shot in November, 2020.

Vij subsequently catching the viral disease after getting
the first shot caused significant rumours, though it was later announced that
he had undergone only one dose.

The third phase, having kickstarted, will now proceed to
cover about 27 crores of the entire population, consisting of citizens aged
more than 60 years or between 45 and 59 years with co-morbidities.

Government hospitals would be providing the vaccination
service for free, whereas private facilities have been given a price cap of Rs
250, Rs 150 for the vaccine and Rs 100 as service charge.
