India on Monday started its second phase of vaccination drive against the coronavirus pandemic. In the second phase, people above 60 years of age and those above 45 with comorbidities will be inoculated. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is 70-years-old, took his first dose of the vaccine at AIIMS, New Delhi, on Monday. “Took my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS. Remarkable how our doctors and scientists have worked in quick time to strengthen the global fight against COVID-19. I appeal to all those who are eligible to take the vaccine. Together, let us make India COVID-19 free,” the PM tweeted.
According to the health ministry, people who want to get vaccinated need to register themselves and should carry some documents when they come to the vaccine centre.
