As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to rage across the world, it is essential to look for safer options for travelling. The countries that were in the state of lockdown for most of the 2020 started opening up soon after the coronavirus vaccines came in the picture in January; so did the number of travellers. But, the vaccine doesn’t mean we can ignore precautions, say health experts and suggest ways to stay safe and protected.

The Health experts warn people against eating and drinking onboard the plane. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the food and drinks services were closed but now the airlines have brought back their beverages and food services.
A Centres for Disease Control and Prevention on Wednesday released a study, which shows being in a packed place can increase the risk of COVID-19.
“When passengers are allowed to take their marks off for meals services, his comfort with air travel goes away,” says Robert M Wachter, chair of the department of medicine at the University of California.

Watcher, who is a frequent traveller given the nature of his work, says “When (planes) turns into a flying restaurant, the dynamics of spread becomes very different. I would not eat at an indoor restaurant at this point, even being fully vaccinated, and so the time during which the plane is, in fact, an indoor restaurant is a time when it is somewhat less safe.”
