US
President Joe Biden is expected to introduce his administration’s COVID-19 pandemic-combative plan on the first day (Thursday) in the oval
office, reports AFP. The US is the worst coronavirus rattled country with the
largest death toll due to the infection.

The
plan would be unveiled later in the evening after Biden will be briefed by his
COVID-19 team.

Last week, Joe Biden unveiled a $1.9 trillion pandemic stimulus response plan to recover the gravely hit economy by the virus induced COVID-19 lockdown.

“We need to tackle the public health and economic crises we’re facing head-on. That’s why today, I’m announcing my American Rescue Plan. Together we’ll change the course of the pandemic, build a bridge toward economic recovery, and invest in racial justice,” tweeted Biden while making the announcement.

During the election campaigning in August, Biden said that he would implement a national plan to combat the COVID-19 pandemic on the very first day in office if he got elected.

Biden
also laid out his three-point plan to battle the pandemic and said he aims to
distribute at least 100 million vaccine shots in the first 100 days in office
for which health care workers and residents of long-term care facilities will
be given priority.

While
the newly elected President is set to announce his COVID plan soon, the steps
taken in the regard will determine Biden’s presidency to a great extent as
America awaits some efficient measures after former President Donald Trump aggravated
conditions with the constant downplaying of the virus during his term.
