Every year, World Milk Day is observed on June 1 by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to highlight the importance of milk and milk products. It was first celebrated on June 1, 2002.

The main objective to celebrate World Milk Day is to make people aware of the importance of dairy products and to make them understand the nutritions milk provides to millions of people. As per the Food and Agriculture Organization data, around 1 billion people%u2019s livelihood is supported by the dairy sector.

This year to mark the importance of World Milk Day, the theme is %u201C Sustainability is the dairy sector with empowering the nutrition, environment, and socio-economy.%u201D The main focus of the theme is to aware people of the benefit of milk and milk products so that they can include dairy products in their diets.
