Beck Bennett is leaving the  ‘Saturday Night Live’ after eight seasons of leaving audiences of the late-night show in splits with spot-on impressions of Russian President Vladimir Putin and US Vice President Mike Pence. “Thank you for 8 years of remarkable people and incredible experiences that completely changed my life,” Bennett posted on Instagram. Bennett said he had “so much fun” after joining SNL as a featured player at the start of season 39 in 2013. He was promoted to the regular cast in 2015.  

Lauren Holt, who was a featured player last season, will also not return for SNL’s 47th season that starts October 2 with four consecutive episodes.

Owen Wilson, Kim KardashianJason Sudeikis and Rami Malek will host the 47th season of ‘Saturday Night Live’. Owen Wilson, who recently earned attention for his part in the Marvel series “Loki” on Disney Plus, will be the season’s first presenter. He’ll be paired with Kacey Musgraves, who just released a new album.

Model and reality TV star Kim Kardashian will host the event for the first time on October 9, with Halsey as the musical guest. On Oct. 16, actor Rami Malek will make his “SNL” hosting debut, only days after the scheduled release of the latest James Bond movie “No Time To Die..” Young Thug will perform as a musical guest on the show. Jason Sudeikis, who was a part of the “SNL” ensemble from 2005 to 2013, will host the show for the first time on Oct. 23. Sudeikis is reaping the benefits of the success of his Apple TVPlus show, “Ted Lasso,” which he executive produces and appears in. On that date, Brandi Carlile will make her musical debut.

SNL was the most-watched entertainment programme on TV among people aged 18 to 49 in the 2020-2021 season, an advertiser-favourite demographic.
