Guruprasad Mohapatra was the Secretary in the Department of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). He died on Saturday due to a COVID-19 related complication.

Mohapatra was an Indian Administrative Service officer of the 1986 batch. He took charge as the secretary of DPIIT in August 2019. He had served as the chairman of the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
Earlier he had served as a joint secretary in the Department of Commerce where he oversaw the promotion of special economic zones (SEZs), public procurement, and project exports (financing and insurance).
