National Ayurveda Day was started in 2016 by the Ministry of AYUSH. Ayurvedic medicines have always been considered better for health problems as this ancient medical method is natural and it is able to eliminate the problem without any side effects.

National Ayurveda Day is celebrated every year on Dhanvantari Jayanti, commonly known as Dhanteras to spread awareness among people about Ayurveda. According to the popular beliefs, Lord Dhanvantari, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, is considered the father of Ayurveda aka, the Vaidya of the Gods and the God of Health, hence the National Ayurveda Day is celebrated on Dhanvantari Jayanti and today on 13 November 2020, this dedicated day to Ayurveda is being celebrated.
