The upcoming film Home Sweet Home Alone is an upcoming comedy film, it is the sixth instalment of the Home Alone franchise. The film series will be adding to its collection for the first time since 2012.

It has been directed by British screenwriter Dan Mazer who is well known for co-writing and co-producing films such as Ali G Indahouse, Borat and Bruno. The film is produced by Hutch Parker and Dan Wilson, written by Mikey Day and Streeter Seidall.

While the first segment was a huge success in all parts of the world, the hype tended to die down after the release of every part due to the repetitive storyline which was not enjoyed as much by the audience.

While not a lot is known about the story, the basic storyline remains the same. A young boy named Max Mercer, played by Archie Yates is left behind as his family goes on a Christmas vacation. Archie has previously performed the role of Yorki in Jojo Rabbit.

However, it comes with a welcome twist. This time the robbery will be performed by a married couple who infiltrate the little boy’s home to steal a valuable family heirloom to do away with their woes for money.

The film will have an exclusive release on Disney + Hotstar well ahead of Christmas on November 12.

The rest of the cast includes Rob Delaney, Kenan Thompson, Chris Parnell, Ellie Kemper, Pete Holmes, Timothy Simons, Aisling Bea, Ally Maki and Andy Daly.

Although the makers have teased that the sixth instalment will be the final one of the franchise, it does not seem like the makers want to do away with the series just yet.

Considering that the new storyline will be bringing several new characters into the mix, it gives the makers a lot of room to and new ideas to produce another storyline.
