Rain played spoilsport on the first day of the World Test Championship (WTC) final, delaying the toss and start of the match. And while players, match officials and spectators were waiting for the start of play, social mediawas abuzz with jokes and memes about the much-awaited encounter between India and New Zealand. Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan feels that India has been saved due to the delay. He was vocal on Twitter during the Test series between India and England earlier in the year, saying that the bowling pitches were not of great standards and that they assisted spinners a lot.
