The COVID-19 tally of India touched 1,11,92,088 on Saturday after 18,327 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in the last 24 hours. With 108 new deaths recorded on Friday. India's death toll from COVID-19 has now climbed to 1,57,656 according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data.

The tally of recovered COVID-19 cases reached 1,08,54,128 on Saturday as 14,234 people recovered from the coronavirus infection on Friday. There are currently 1,80,304 active cases of coronavirus in India.

According to ICMR, a total of 22,06,92,677 samples tested for COVID-19 up to Friday. Of these, a total of 7,51,935 samples were tested in the last 24 hours

India is the second worst-hit nation worldwide from the coronavirus the country's COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7; 30 lakh on August 23; 40 lakh on September 5; and 50 lakh on September 16. The tally went past 60 lakh on September 28; 70 lakh on October 11; 80 lakh on October 29; 90 lakh on November 20; and surpassed the one-crore mark on December 19.
