Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, on Friday, paid tributes to the martyrs and homage to the victims of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. He said that India will always be grateful to the security personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

On November 26, 2008, 10 Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists from Pakistan arrived by sea route and opened fire, killing 166 people, including 18 security personnel, and injuring several others during the 60-hour siege in Mumbai.

“My heartfelt tributes to the martyrs and homage to the victims of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. The nation will always be grateful for the bravery and sacrifice of the security forces who laid down their lives in the line of duty,” President Kovind tweeted.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, too, paid tributes to those who lost their lives in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack.

Security forces killed nine of the terrorists and captured one after three days of operations in multiple places in the metropolis.

“Heartfelt tributes to those who lost their lives in the Mumbai 26/11 terror attacks and salute the courage of all the security personnel who bravely faced the terrorists in the cowardly attacks. The whole nation will remain proud of your bravery. A grateful nation will always be indebted to your sacrifice,” Shah tweeted in Hindi.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also remembered the martyrs of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

He shared a two-minute video of the pictures of all the martyrs who gave the supreme sacrifice in the attacks that shook the country’s financial capital Mumbai on this day in 2008.

“Protects the country by staying at the border away from the family in difficult weather, saves innocents by risking his own life during a terrorist attack. He cares about the world without bothering about his own life, our Jawan is the pride of the family, the village and the nation.

“Salute to the heroes of 26/11 Mumbai Terror Attacks. Jai Hind,” Gandhi said in a tweet in Hindi while sharing the video.
