After the best start of the series, a flurry of wickets dented team India’s innings in the ongoing third and final One
Day International match against England at the Maharashtra Cricket
Association Stadium in Pune.
England skipper Jos Butler won the toss and invited India to
bat first. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan played well at the start of the
innings, scoring 103 runs for the first wicket in just 14.4 overs.

On seeing the batsmen in form, Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin
predicted that the ‘Hitman’ will score 200 runs for the fourth time in his career time.
“In ODI cricket only once has 400 been chased down and @ImRo45 has only 3 double tons. #INDvsENG #justsaying,” Ashwin tweeted.
Soon after the tweet, however, Rohit lost his wicket to Adil Rashid, leaving Ashiwn red-faced and in a hurry to delete his tweet as he said he jinxed the batsman.
“I deleted the previous tweet!
#jinxedagoodstart #INDvsENG” Ravi Ashwin tweeted.
Rishabh Pant (78) and Hardik Pandya (64) led a counter attack on the England bowling to swing the momentum back their way as India finished with a total of 329 runs on the board. England will need to score 330 to win the win match and prevent a clean sweep in all three formats, having already lost the Test and T20I series.
