It has become a tradition that every Eid brings with it a new Salman Khan classic that is known to break the box office records and set new benchmarks each time. This year Salman Khan is set to dazzle audiences with his upcoming action-packed ‘Radhe’, starring Disha Patani and Randeep Hooda. 

Here is a list that looks back at the features released on Eid by the Bollywood superstar: 

1: Wanted (2009) 

‘Wanted’ is an action-packed thriller with riveting fight sequences by action director Vijayan. According to critics, the movie captures the true essence of ‘Bhai’s style’. The storyline follows ‘Radhe’ a sharpshooter who is caught between gangsters who want him dead, police who want him for the information he holds and a girlfriend who wants him to mend his ways. 

2: Dabangg (2010) 

Directed by Anurag Singh Kashyap, ‘Dabangg’ tells the story of a fearless police officer, ‘Chulbul Pandey’, played by Salman Khan. As Pandey deals with corruption, his new relationship with ‘Rajjoo’ (Sonakshi Sinha) his detractor Cheddi Singh cooks up a ploy to create a rift between him and his stepbrother. 

‘Dabangg’ was a box office hit collecting over Rs 2.19 billion and winning over 6 Filmfare Awards.

3: Bodyguard (2011) 

‘Bodyguard’ is a romantic action film featuring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor in lead roles. Upon its release, it broke the record of highest opening day grosser with a net profit of Rs 1.03 billion in its first week itself. 

The plot follows Lovely Singh (played by Salman Khan) who has been appointed to keep Mr Rana’s daughter, Divya (played by Kareen Kapoor) safe. As the story proceeds he starts receiving prank calls from Chhaya who is actually Divya and falls in love with her. 

Bodyguard is a remake of the Director’s own 2010 Mollywood film of the same name.

4: Sultan (2016) 

‘Sultan’ is a sports drama directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The film follows Sultan Ali Khan, a fictional former pehlwan wrestler from Haryana. Years later, he sets out to revive his career to win the prize money and regain the lost respect. 

The film also featured Anushka Sharma, Randeep Hooda and Amit Sadh and is one of the top five highest-grossing Indian films to date.

5: Ek Tha Tiger (2012) 

‘Ek Tha Tiger’ is an action thriller film filled with light comedy and excellent writing done by Kabir Khan. Part of the Tiger franchise, the movie is the first instalment of YRF’s Spy Universe. 

The movie follows a RAW agent, Tiger (Salman Khan) who is sent to Dublin to gather information on an Indian scientist who is allegedly sharing nuclear secrets with the ISI. Upon reaching the destination he falls in love with Zoya (Katrina Kaif) who is an agent with the ISI. ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ is the Indian remake of the Bourne film series.
