The Federal Bureau
of Investigation (FBI) said it has received Intel warning capitol riots like ‘armed
protest’ being planned in all 50 US state capitols and Washington DC ahead of
President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration on January 20, reports PTI.

“Armed
protests are being planned at all 50 state capitols from January 16 through at
least January 20, and at the US Capitol from January 17 through January
20,” according to the internal Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
bulletin obtained by CNN.

Meanwhile, the FBI in another statement clarified that the agency is attempting to discover any potential threats to harm President-Elect Biden ahead
of the oath ceremony. Some additional reports also indicate threats against VP-Elect Kamala Harris and Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the bulletin
said.

Clouded with threats of more violence from Trump supporters on various parts of DC, the Pentagon has approved to deploy more than 15,000 additional National Guard troops in the national capitol.

Army General Daniel
R. Hokanson, the chief of the National Guard Bureau on Monday told media that around 6,000 national guard troops have already been
deployed in the Washington DC.

Meanwhile, several right wing oriented and other online sites, where protestors are continuously calling for armed action in cities across the country on January
17 and a march in Washington DC on inauguration day itself are being monitored with the latest development being suspension of 70,000 pro-Trump twitter accounts.

However, as federal investigative agencies attempt to track down suspects of Congress building’s attack, the FBI bulletin insights raise concerns that the US Capitol siege was perhaps just the onset of many such potential violent actions from pro-Trump individuals.

The latest bulletin by FBI said that the agency received information on an identified group calling for others
to join them in ‘storming’ state, local and federal government courthouses and
administrative buildings in the event POTUS is removed as President prior to
Inauguration Day.

“This identified
group is also planning to ‘storm’ government offices including in the District
of Columbia and in every state, regardless of whether the states certified
electoral votes for Biden or Trump, on 20 January,” said the FBI bulletin,
according to CNN.

However, Biden, who is slated to sworn in as the 46th President of the US on January 20, told media on Monday that he is not afraid to take the oath of office outside of the US
Capitol.

On the other hand, the outgoing President Donald Trump will face an impeachment vote in the house of Representatives on Wednesday.

The article of impeachment charges Trump with ‘incitement of insurrection’ for his irresponsible remarks and actions on January 6 that led to the killing of five people, including an officer of the US Capitol Police, during the US Capitol violence.
