The star-studded film Bell Bottom is all set to release digitally,
almost a month after releasing in theatres, on Amazon Prime Video on September
16th. The action – thriller directed by Ranjit Tewari is inspired
from real life events in India, such as the hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight
423, 405 and 421 by Khalistani Separatists.

The cast includes Akshay Kumar playing the lead role as
Anshul Malhotra, Lara Dutta as Indira Gandhi, Vaani Kapoor as Radhika Malhotra,
Huma Qureshi as Adeela Rehman and Adil Hussain as Santook.

Bell Bottom has received a rating of 6.5/10 on IMDb and has
received positive reviews from a number of film critics. It was the first Hindi
movie to hit theatres after coronavirus restrictions were eased in most states.
However, the theatres haven’t been given a green light to reopen in Maharashtra
while majority of other states operate at 50 percent capacity. This is a big
reason behind the low box office collection of the film.

“After getting the theatres
going, it is time to take this story to more people, and what better way to do
that than releasing BellBottom on Amazon Prime Video; with a reach of 240+
countries and territories, I am hoping this tale of an unsung hero reaches
audiences far and wide,” Akshay Kumar said in a statement, as per PTI.

Producers have become increasingly
accepting of releasing films on OTT platforms due to the coronavirus. The film
industry has had to evolve in order to survive.

The film manages to keep its viewers hooked for the complete
duration of 123 minutes. It is filled with scenes that give goosebumps. If you
need another reason to watch this action-packed thriller then allow me to
remind you that Akshay Kumar plays the role of an Army man. Arguably, he is the
best man in Bollywood to perform roles of a man in uniform.
