All ministers in the Rajasthan Council of Ministers tendered their resignations on Saturday, a day before the cabinet reshuffle. The ministers resigned during a meeting with Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot at his residence in Jaipur. All the ministers will meet at the state Congress headquarters at 2 pm on Sunday and the swearing-in of the new Cabinet is expected to take place at Raj Bhawan at 4 pm tomorrow.

“All ministers resigned in the meeting,” Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, who was the transport minister, told reporters.

“We have been asked to go to the PCC office at 2 pm on Sunday where further instructions will be given by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, AICC general secretary Ajay Maken and PCC chief Govind Singh Dotasra,” Khachariyawas added.

The call for a cabinet reshuffle had been growing for several months with Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot’s camp demanding that his supporters be accommodated in the government.

Apart from Congress MLAs, independents supporting the government and MLAs who defected from the BSP to Congress also have expectations from the reshuffle. CM Gehlot had recently hinted that a reshuffle will take place soon.
