Manasa Varanasi, who bagged the title of Miss India World 2020 in the virtually held 57th edition of the Femina Miss India beauty pageant, has had her fair share of experience in a wide variety of fields ranging from performing arts, social work and the corporate world. Her basic interests include reading, music and yoga, which she says was developed through her curious nature about everything, a trait she carries since childhood.

She said, “I’ve always considered curiosity as my best friend. As a shy child, it helped me face my fears. As an anxious teenager, it helped me step out of my comfort zone. And as an over-thinking adult, it helps me protect my mental health every day”, reported India Times.

She has also worked as a volunteer teacher for an NGO called Make A Difference, which works for the welfare of underprivileged children in India. She said, “Connecting with these children made me appreciate that behind every smile, behind every action, lies a story, and these stories – sometimes happy, but often sad – mold us”, reported India Times.

She has also mastered the dance styles of Sangeetam and Bharatnatyam, which helped her overcome her reserved nature and explore the new art at the same time.

Neha Dhupia, who has also crowned with the same title in 2002, said, “Each year as the journey of Femina Miss India begins, it brings back all the memories of the
priceless experiences I’ve had with this pageant. It’s almost like reliving
every moment of my journey with these young glamorous girls who are so full of
enthusiasm and capability to take on the world with power and elegance.
Certainly, there are challenges with the digital process in the wake of the
pandemic, however I’m confident it will be as exciting and worthwhile
irrespective of the layout.”
