The movie ‘Bachchhan Paandey‘ is billed as an action-comedy, which draws inspiration from the 2006 South Korean film, ‘A Dirty Carnival’. It is billed as a remake of the Tamil film ‘Jigarthanda’. Initially, the movie was supposed to be a remake of the Tamil film ‘Veeram’, but that idea was scrapped and there were talks the film would have an original script.
Kriti Sanon plays the director Myra Devekar, who tries to make a gangster movie. Caught between producer and client demands, and artistic integrity to the execution, the aspiring filmmaker decides to study a real-life gangster.
Akshay Kumar plays this fearsome character, who’s surrounded by a host of quirky supporting roles. When Devekar tries to get close to the gangster, she and her friend stumble upon a world of murder, intrigue, and betrayal. Before either of them get too far into it, they’re found out by this gangster.

He’s not too pleased to catch two strangers snooping, but relents on learning that Devekar is making a movie on gangsters. Now, this individual wants to be in Devekar’s gangster movie. There is one downside – neither the real-life gangster nor his henchmen can act.
They try to hone their skills with the help of an acting coach who is rough with the entire gang. However, it falls on the director to try and convince her amateur actors not to react violently to the trainer’s methods.
