Australian cricketer Andrew Symonds died in a car accident on May 14th. The former all-rounder was found dead on Saturday night about 50 kilometres from Townsville.
Symonds was travelling on Hervey Range Road near the Alice River Bridge when his car left the road and rolled, according to authorities.

When paramedics arrived, they were unable to save the former Australian right-handed batsman, who was the only person in the car.
Since the news of the death broke out, everyone on social media has been expressing their devastation-
Australia Cricket tweeted early this morning “Vale Andrew Symonds. We are shocked and saddened by the loss of the loveable Queenslander, who has tragically passed away at the age of 46.”

Former left-handed batsman Adam Gilchrist remembered Symonds and wrote, “This really hurts, Think of your most loyal, fun, loving friend who would do anything for you. That’s Roy.”

Pakistani bowler Shoaib Akhtar paid homage to the ex-Australian all-rounder and wrote”Devastated to hear about Andrew Symonds passing away in a car crash in Australia. We shared a great relationship on & off the field. Thoughts & prayers with the family. #AndrewSymonds,” Akhtar tweeted.
Ex-Australia pacer Jason Gillespie tweeted, “Horrendous news to wake up to. Utterly devastated. We are all gonna miss you mate.”

Several other cricketers expressed their condolences for Symonds’ tragic death on social media-
Symonds is the third Australian cricketer to die unexpectedly this year, following the sudden deaths of Shane Warne and Rod Marsh in March.
