Mumbai’s Arthur Jail’s official on Thursday said that Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, key accused in a drug case, was shifted to a common cell along with five other men, after testing negative for COVID-19. Aryan and other accused were earlier kept in Arthur Jail’s quarantine barrack.

“Aryan Khan and five others shifted to the common cell from quarantine barrack in the jail after their Covid report came negative,” Nitin Waychal, superintendent of Arthur Road Jail said.
Aryan Khan, son of veteran Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, was on October 2 arrested in an alleged drug case following a raid at a cruise ship going from Mumbai to Goa by the Narcotics Control Bureau.
The central drug body since then apposed Aryan Khan’s bail in the case and alleged that he sourced drugs and was in touch with “some persons abroad who appear to be a part of an International Drug Network for illicit procurement of drugs.”

Earlier, the court had rejected Aryan Khan’s bail plea and placed him on a 14-day judicial custody following which the actor’s son was sent to Arthur Jail.
The complaint was later filed in a special court which is hearing the bail plea of Aryan Khan and others in a matter related to the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The initial hearing that took place on Wednesday could not reach a verdict, however, the NCB opposed the bail plea stating that releasing Aryan Khan could interfere with the investigation and that he was involved in the procurement of drugs. It further sought a week to file the affidavit.
The special court will hear the plea once again on Thursday.
Aryan’s parents Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan have not yet commented on his arrest and the allegations so far. However, several celebrities like Salman Khan, Farah Khan and Hrithik Roshan have come out in the support of the Khans.
