The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has announced that the Asia Cup 2020 has been officially postponed and will be held in Sri Lanka next year.

A media release from the ACC stated that owing to the challenges of the pandemic which include travel restrictions, country-specific quarantine requirements, fundamental health risks and social distancing mandates the Executive Board has decided to postpone the tournament and a June 2021 window is currently being looked up to.

The Asia Cup is a ODI and T20I cricket tournament played by Asian cricket playing countries, which was established in 1983 when the ACC was founded. India is the most successful nation with seven titles the latest coming in 2018.
