Indian avatar of PUBG Mobile, Battlegrounds Mobile India, is reportedly sending Android users data to a Chinese server, according to a report in IGN, reported Network 18. Last year, PUBG Mobile was banned in India.
As per the report, readers approached IGN stating that the data which is sent and received by the Battlegrounds Mobile India APK is from China Mobile Communications servers, located in Beijing.
The report further discovered that Battlegrounds Mobile India is sending the data to a Tencent-run Proxima Beta in Hong Kong, as well as Microsoft Azure servers in the US, Mumbai, and Moscow.
According to reports, IGN verified the claims independently.
Krafton, developer of Battlegrounds Mobile India, while announcing Battlegrounds Mobile India, had said that the “privacy and security of Indian player data being a top priority," according to a report in News18.
