Reports, earlier this week, claimed that former India captain Dravid had agreed to becoming the next India coach. He is likely to take over from Ravi Shastri after his tenure ends following the T20 World Cup in the UAE and Oman.

Dravid has been looking after India A and U-19 set-up for the past six years. Also, he is the current head of the NCA in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

When India captain, Virat Kohli, was asked about Dravid being in line to be the team’s next coach on Sunday, he said, “No idea exactly what’s happening on that front. No detailed discussion with anyone yet.”

India will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against Pakistan on October 24. Both India and Pakistan are placed together in Group 2 of the Super 12 phase, along with Afghanistan and New Zealand. Furthermore, two other teams will also join them from the first round.
