Announcements are soon to be made for elections of Bihar District Council, Panchayati Raj and Gram Kachahari. The Election Commission is waiting to receive a nod from the Governor Phagu Chauhan. The commission has also issued a guideline to the administration for the Panchayat elections and has instructed the secretary Yogendra Ram to start electoral preparations.

The dates and times have been fixed for voting, counting, filing nomination and withdrawal of nominations.  Polling will be held from 7am to 5pm while the counting of the votes will begin at 8am. The time to file and withdraw nomination has been set from 11am to 4pm.

Elections will be held on six posts of Zilla Parishad, Gram Panchayat and Gram Kachahari. As per the reports, nomination fees have also been finalised for the contenders. The district council candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs 2000, which is highest amongst all posts. 

Notification regarding Panchayat elections in Bihar will be issued soon. The State Election Commission has issued detailed guidelines to the District Election Officer (DM) regarding preparations for the election; from filling the form to conducting the elections.

The State Election Commission has prepared to hold elections in 10 phases- district wise. Each booth will have a maximum of 800 voters. The Commission has also emphasised on transparency, so at least complaints could reach its way.

Block Development Officer, Zonal Officer and Deputy Collector level officers will be fielded for the posts of Gram Panchayat and Gram Kachahari. Whereas, sub-divisional officers will be assigned for the post of Zilla Parishad.
