The Bhagalpur assembly constituency elected Congress’ Ajit Sharma in the 2020 Bihar Assembly polls. He defeated BJP’s Rohit Pandey.

The
seat, one of Bihar’s 243 assembly constituencies, is part of Bhagalpur (Lok
Sabha Constituency) along with other assembly constituencies viz Gopalpur,
Pirpainti, Kahalgaon, Bihpur and Nathnagar.

Bhagalpur
will be one of the 36 seats to have VVPAT enabled electronic voting machines.
