Bihar’s Govindganj Assembly constituency elected BJP candidate Sunil Mani Tiwari in 2020. Tiwari defeated Brajesh Kumar of Indian National Congress by a margin of 27,924 votes.

The Govindganj Vidhan Sabha constituency
was won by Raju Tiwari of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) in 2015. Tiwari defeated
the Congress’ Brajesh Kumar by a margin of 27,920 votes to prevail in the 2015
assembly elections.

Janata Dal (United) candidate Meena Dwivedi was elected
to power in the 2010 assembly election as well as in the February and October
elections in 2005 while independent candidate Rajan Tiwari defeated Bhupendra
Nath Dubey of the Samata Party in 2000.

Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies Order, 2008, the Govindganj Vidhan
Sabha constituency is composed of the Areraj and Paharpur community development
blocks and parts of the Sangrampur community development block.

part of Purvi Champaran Lok Sabha constituency. It was earlier part of Motihari
Lok Sabha constituency.
