RJD’s Tej Pratap Yadav has won the Hasanpur assembly constituency currently held by JD(U)
MLA Raj Kumar Ray.
Yadav is a son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, the former Chief Minister of Bihar. His brother, Tejashwi Yadav, the chief ministerial candidate from the Grand Alliance which includes RJD, is also leading from Raghopur seat.
Hasanpur, one
of Bihar’s 243 assembly constituencies, is part of 25. Khagaria (Lok Sabha
Constituency).
As per Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly
constituencies Order, 2008, No. 140 Hasanpur (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is
composed of the following: Hasanpur and Bithan community development blocks;
Kundal I, Kundal II, Shalepur, Jahangirpur and Bishnupur Diha gram panchayats
of Singhia CD Block.
