The Raxaul Vidhan Sabha constituency is
currently held by Bharatiya Janata Party
(BJP)
leader Ajay Kumar Singh who defeated Rashtriya Janata Dal’s Suresh Kumar by a
margin of 3,169 votes to prevail in the 2015 assembly elections.

The seat is stronghold for Singh, who has
represented the constituency since 2000. His term was preceded by Janata Dal’s
Raj Nandan Rai’s who won the seat in 1990 and 1995.

constituency is composed of the Raxaul and Adapur community development blocks.
