The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday released its first list of candidates for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly polls. The party announced 57 candidates for the polls to the 294-member Assembly.

The party has shared the list on its official Twitter handle.

Among the prominent names is the former Trinamool Congress member Suvendu Adhikari, who’ll contest from Nandigram. He’ll contest against Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee. 

Ex-cricketer Ashoke Dinda has also got BJP’s ticket and he’ll contest from Moyna.

Polling for West Bengal Assembly election will be held in eight phases, from March 27 to April 29. Votes will be counted on May 2.
