Bollywood directors Rohit Shetty and Sajid Khan were spotted at Akshay Kumar’s mother Aruna Bhatia’s last rites.
Akshay Kumar’s wife Twinkle Khanna was also clicked by photographers near the family residence.
Film producer Ramesh S Taurani and actor Ritesh Deshmukh were also seen among others who arrived to pay their respects.
Aruna Bhatia died at the Hiranandani Hospital, Mumbai on Wednesday.
Akshay Kumar shared the heartbreaking news on social media, saying, “She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence. My maa Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti,”

Aruna Bhatia and her husband Hari Om Bhatia initially lived in Punjab’s Amritsar, where Akshay Kumar was born. Hari Om Bhatia was an army officer who enjoyed wrestling. From Punjab, the family shifted to Delhi’s Chandni Chowk and later to Mumbai, where Aruna gave birth to a daughter. Aruna Bhatia lost her husband in 2000.
