The Bombay High Court on Wednesday stayed Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) demolition at Kangana Ranaut’s Mumbai bungalow. The court has asked the civic body to file reply on actor’s petition.

Earlier in the day, the BMC, which is controlled by the Shiv Sena, demolished what it described as ‘illegal alterations’ at Kangana Ranaut’s bungalow in Bandra area. A BMC team reached the bungalow at Pali Hill in Bandra with bulldozer and excavators and demolished alterations, news agency PTI reported.

Ranaut, who is scheduled to arrive in Mumbai later on Wednesday, had alleged that the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maharashtra government is targeting her because her public spat with Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut.

“I am never wrong and my enemies prove again and again this is why my Mumbai is POK now,” the 33-year-old actor posted on Twitter along with photos of demolition at her Mumbai house.

Kangana’s remark in which she likened Mumbai with Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) had triggered an ugly war of words between her and Shiv Sena’s chief spokesperson Sanjay Raut. She was also attacked for her remark that she feared Mumbai Police more than the “movie mafia”, and would prefer security either from Himachal Pradesh or the Centre.

Following the war of words, Ranaut was provided ‘Y-plus’ security by the Centre, a move criticised by the Opposition parties.
