MI5, Britain’s domestic intelligence agency, opened an official Instagram account of Thursday. Their purpose: To boost transparency bust myths and promote career opportunities.
The agency in their first Instagram post, put out an image of it’s London headquarter with a caption, the secret to successful spying is to “consider all angles. It’ll give you a better view.”

The organization in a statement said that they have taken this move with an aim to boosting transparency, busting myths, promoting career opportunity, highlighting historical exhibit and to host Q&As with servicing intelligence officers.
Ken McCallum, the agency head said, “being more open” is critical to MI5’s approach to the 2020 but that does not mean the organization “will become an open book.”
He further added, “MI5 making it slightly belated debut on social media is just one example of where our open approach is taking us.”
Britain’s Cyber Security Intelligence agency joined Twitter in the year 2016 and Instagram in 2018. The CIA also created their social media handle like Twitter in 2014.
