Britney Spears has announced that she is pregnant with her first child with fiancé Sam Asghari. The pop star shared the news on Instagram on Monday.
In the caption, the 40-year-old said that she “got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby.” She shared the news with a photo of a cup of tea surrounded by flowers.
She also explained that during a recent trip to Maui with the 28-year-old fitness trainer, she felt that she was gaining weight.
“I thought ‘Geez … what happened to my stomach ???'” she wrote, noting Asghari, whom she referred to as her “husband” in recent Instagram posts, told her she was “food pregnant.”

She also joked about it saying that as she is getting more “food pregnant” she would reduce her public appearance. She would do that to also avoid the paparazzi.
Spears also opened up about her mental health during a previous pregnancy.
“It’s hard because when I was pregnant I had perinatal depression … I have to say it is absolutely horrible,” she wrote. “Women didn’t talk about it back then … some people considered it dangerous if a woman complained like that with a baby inside her … but now women talk about it everyday … thank Jesus we don’t have to keep that pain a reserved proper secret.”

She concluded the post writing: “This time I will be doing yoga ?♀️ every day !!! Spreading lots of joy and love.”
This is Spears’ third child and her first with Asghari.
Spears shares two kids, Sean Preston Federline, 16, and Jayden James Federline, 15, with her previous husband Kevin Federline.
Asghari and Spears announced their engagement in September last year, just hours before hitting the red carpet for the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards.

Spears made the announcement on her Instagram account with a video showing off the four-carat ring.
A month after their engagement, the couple welcomed a pet dog to the family – a Doberman puppy named Porsha.
