An eight-year-old Pakistani boy was sent back to Pakistan after the Border
Security Force (BSF) handed him over to Pakistani rangers on Saturday. The
child accidentally crossed the international borders and reached India’s border
post of  Somrar in the Barmer sector of
Rajasthan. The incident occurred on Friday, reported PTI citing BSF officials.

“As
a goodwill gesture, the BSF on Friday handed over a Pakistani minor boy in a
flag meeting with Pakistan Rangers,” the BSF said in a statement.

According to the statement, a boy named Karim, son of a Pakistani man Yamanu, was spotted by on-duty BSF troops. The boy started crying after seeing uniformed men. The force calmed him and offered water and food. He was then sent back to his country.

Soon after the incident was reported, a flag meeting was held with Pakistani Rangers.

The smile on the face of the
boy, while handing over to counterpart, displayed gratitude towards
generous behavior of the BSF,” the statement further said.

The Barmer sector of Rajasthan falls under BSF Gujarat frontier with its headquarters in Gandhinagar.
