Under SAFEMA, the finance ministry had planned to auction 13 properties owned by Ibrahim in the first quarter this year, however, it was disrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Section 68F of SAFEMA empowers the authority to attach properties of family members and relatives of the fugitive.

In April 2019, the authority auctioned a flat in Nagpada, belonging to Dawood’s sister Haseena Parkar, for Rs 1.8 crore. In 2018, SAFEMA sold Ibrahim’s property, Amina Mansion, on Pakmodia Street for Rs 3.51 crore. In November 2017, three sealed properties of the fugitive don were won by Saifee Burhani Upliftment Trust (SBUT).
